El Dr. Raúl Cabrera es el actual profesor titular y jefe del programa de postgrado de Dermatología de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad del Desarrollo-Clínica Alemana.
Nombrado “Miembro Emérito” de la Sociedad Chilena de Dermatología en reconocimiento a su contribución a la Sociedad Chilena de Dermatología. (Noviembre 2020).
Nombrado “Maestro de la Dermatología Ibero Latinoamericana” por su destacada trayectoria como docente e investigador en el mundo de la Dermatología. (Julio 2022).
Recibió su título de Médico Cirujano en la Universidad de Chile y realizó su especialización en Dermatología en la Escuela de Medicina de la Universidad de Chile.
Posteriormente realizó estudios de post grado de Dermatología (Inmunodermatología) en la Universidad de Minnesota de Estados Unidos.
Tiene publicaciones en revistas dermatológicas de alto prestigio en los campos de: Cáncer de piel, Dermatoscopía e Inmunodermatología .
Ha sido miembro de varias sociedades científicas; Sociedad Chilena de Inmunología, Sociedad Chilena de Alergia e Inmunología, Sociedad Chilena de Dermatología. Presidente de la Sociedad Chilena de Dermatología (2002-2004). Presidente del Congreso Latinoamericano de Dermatología (R.A.D.L.A 2006). Miembro del Colegio Ibero-Latinoamericano de Dermatología (C.I.L.A.D) desde el año 1986 y su director científico entre los años 2008-2012.
Es miembro de la American Academy of Dermatology desde el año 1990 y miembro del “Committee on International Affairs of the American Academy of Dermatology” (1993-1997).
Pertenece a varios comité editoriales de revistas dermatológicas; “Dermatología Argentina”, “Revista Chilena de Dermatología”, “European Medical Journal of Dermatology”, “Treatment Strategies-Dermatology”, “Dermatología CMQ, de México”. Miembro del comité editorial de la revista Norteamericana de Dermatología “Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology” ,2004-2012.
Es miembro de la Sociedad Internacional de Dermatoscopía y miembro honorario de la Sociedad Peruana de Dermatología.
Representante de la región Latinoamericana ante la International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) y coordinador del ILDS Guidelines Steering Committee (2016-2019).
Miembro del Comité Científico del Congreso Mundial de Dermatología en Milan 2019.
Reconocido por el Gobierno de Chile el año 2017 en el “II Programa Embajadores Asociaciones Internacionales” del Ministerio de Economía, Fomento y Turismo.
Es actualmente profesor titular y jefe del programa de postgrado de Dermatología de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad del Desarrollo-Clínica Alemana.
Dr. Raúl Cabrera is the Chairman and Chief of the Postgraduate Program of Dermatology at the School of Medicine, Universidad del Desarrollo-Clínica Alemana, Santiago de Chile.
Dr. Cabrera was nominated “Emeritus Member” by the Chilean Society of Dermatology in 2020 in recognition of his contribution to the Chilean Society of Dermatology.
Dr. Cabrera was awarded “Master of Dermatology of the Ibero-Latin America College” in 2022 in recognition of his academic career and investigation into Dermatology.
He received his M.D. from the University of Chile and completed his dermatology residency program at the University of Chile School of Medicine.
He did a fellowship in Dermatology (Immunodermatology) at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota, U.S.A.
He has published many articles in prestigious medical journals in the fields of Immunodermatology, Skin Cancer, and Dermatoscopy.
Dr. Cabrera was a member of the Chilean Society of Immunology , Chilean Society of Allergy and Immunology and the Chilean Society of Dermatology.
He became President of the Chilean Society of Dermatology in 2002-2004 and President of the Latin American Annual Meeting (R.A.D.L.A.) in 2006.
He has been a member of the Ibero-Latin American College of Dermatology (C.I.L.A.D.) since 1986, and was the scientific director from 2008-2012.
Dr. Cabrera has been a member of the American Academy of Dermatology since 1990, and member of the Committee on International Affairs of the American Academy of Dermatology 1993-1997.
He is a member of the following editorial boards: “Dermatología Argentina”, “Revista Chilena de Dermatología”, “European Medical Journal of Dermatology”, “Treatment Strategies-Dermatology”, “Dermatología C.M.Q. de México”, and was an editorial board member of the “Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology”, 2004-2012.
He is a member of the International Dermoscopy Society and is an honorary member of the Peruvian Society of Dermatology.
He joined the board of directors of the International League of Dermatologic Societies (I.L.D.S.) and became chair of the I.L.D.S. Guidelines Steering Committee (2016-2019).
He was a member of the Scientific Committee of the World Congress of Dermatology held in Milan 2019.
He has been recognized by the Government of Chile in the “II Programa Embajadores Asociaciones Internacionales” of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism.
He is now the head and professor of the Postgraduate Program in Dermatology at the Medical School of Universidad del Desarrollo-Clínica Alemana.
